Tango Argentino Dallas' annual open dance event

Tangueros and tangueras of the DFW Metroplex:

This is to invite you all to Tango Argentino Dallas' annual open dance event at the Meyerson Symphony Hall on Saturday, June 7, at around 6:45 PM. As usual, the "mini-milonga" will take place in the lobby for about 20 minutes prior to the concert, which this year features Cuban orchestra TIEMPO LIBRE, playing along with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra.

Dancers of all levels are encouraged to participate. Remember, this is not an exhibition, it's a milonga with the purpose of demonstrating how tango is danced in a social setting with a crowded floor. Following the tradition, men should wear elegant dark; women astonishing black, white, or red.

One important change with respect to previous years: the concert following the milonga at the lobby of the Meyerson is NOT free. Tickets are $10 and can be bought the same day or in advance at the Dallas Symphony Orchestra Website. This means that Tango Argentino Dallas will not be able to hold any tickets for those interested in attending the concert, who will have to get them on their own.

Following the tradition started last year, the Meyerson Latino Festival will include outdoor activities starting at noon, with performances by various artists and free dance lessons (including chacarera, salsa, and tango) starting at noon.

The Meyerson Symphony Hall is located in downtown Dallas, on Flora St. @ Pearl.

Those of you organizing workshops, milongas, etc., feel free to bring and distribute flyers at the event.

Hope we'll see as many of you as possible.
